I was given the iphone 6 and told if I can fix it I can have it. Well, it was dropped and the screen quit working. Glass is not cracked, no signs of why it shouldn’t be working. Took it to the store, and they said they’d look at it and told me to give them about an hour. I come back 45 minutes later, they tell me they checked the battery and it seems fine (phone turns on, makes noise and vibrated when plugged in, shows up on iTunes), so I knew this couldn’t be the problem. They then told me it had no visible signs of water damage and they tried a new screen and it also had no display. What they told me next left me confused. They told me the iPhone was not repairable and the video card on the motherboard was probably fried. Not satisfied with their answer I proceeded to take the phone apart myself when I got home. I unplugged the battery and the screen for about 10 minutes. Plugged them all back in, and the screen began to light up as if it wanted to work, but there were white lines running vertically through the screen. Shortly after, it began to fade back to a solid black color. Is my iPhone ruined, fixable, or what? Any suggestions?
Jared, based on this “but there were white lines running vertically through the screen.” check the connectors. Make sure that all your pins make proper contacts and that there are no bend or broken ones.
Hi Jared Did you come right with this black screen problem ? as I have the same issue, Thanks.
