Chosen Solution

Hi, I know I’m not the first with this problem but I red all other questions and unfortunately nothing helped in my case… So I replaced my iphone 5 battery with a new one (ordered on iFixit), and when I try to start the phone, nothing happens, the screen remains black. Then I plugged it to a charger, and it started to beep (or vibrate in silence mode) every 10 seconds approximately. Then I looked in ifixit for same problem, so I :

  • checked all connector then reassemble the phone
  • disassemble, disconnect and reconnect the battery, reassemble the phone (I tried it 3 or 4 times)
  • try with the old battery
  • try to clean each connector carefully The phone is displayed in iTunes when plugged in and charging correctly. The connectors don’t seem to be damaged :

Do you think that I maybe damage something on the screen connector cables during my first opening ? Indeed the screen came up a little roughly… Is there any way check it ? Thanks in advance Steph

The first thing I would do is try a screen you know works, or at the very least a different screen. If that doesn’t work, shine a flashlight at the screen and see if you can dimly make out the lock screen. Otherwise, post a photo of the connectors on the board with the black sticker removed.

Anytime I have had a blank screen with beeping every 10 seconds, it has always been a faulty LCD. I have seen it in both the iPad and iPhone and new LCD has resolved it every time.

How is the battery? Is it in any way damaged? (Small holes, cuts, etc) I would probably put the phone in “recovery mode” and try that.
