Hello, My brand new Samsung Smart TV sustained an accidental fall this morning. Upon examination I noticed a crack in the picture frame just above the left corner of the screen. There is now a 2-inch broad black band across the top of the screen. Also, a number of vertical lines are appearing en masse! Help!! What should I do?
The LCD is cracked and will keep spreading, and you are just better off buying a new one unfortunately, since the LCD makes up so much of the cost of the TV. Since it is a smart TV, the motherboard/PSU should be salvageable and worth a little on ebay. I know I may get downvoted for telling you to buy a new one, but it isn’t worth it to fix the LCD on the TV, because it is basically just a PSU, control board and the LCD.
