Is there a BIOS version available which allows AHCI on an Satellite A100-407 laptop?
Your system has a SATA I (1.5 Gb/s) HD presently which is running in IDE mode. As to AHCI: You have such an old system I’m not sure if Toshiba offers AHCI support in the last BIOS update they offered for your system (ACPI Flash BIOS version 5.60 for Satellite A100 (PSAA5U/PSAAKU)) See if this works otherwise I’m afraid you’re stuck in IDE mode. Now lets get back to the reason why you want to set the system in AHCI mode. What are you up to?
