I carefully removed the old, cleaned the case, and installed the new battery, but now the computer says “The battery was not detected Reference Code: PPT001”. I triple-checked the battery control connection, as well as the power connection to the battery itself, and everything appears correct. Here is what it looks like:
Everything else on the laptop is working properly. Is there any other test or diagnostic I can run, or should I return it? I really hate to imagine removing this battery and replacing it. Before doing that, is there an easy way to test the new battery before I do the installation?
make sure that little ribbon that goes over the battery connector is plugged in properly, I’ve had issues when it isn’t plugged in before.
