Hi guys, I was using my MBP as usual when I realised that the Battery is stuck at 19% and not increasing anymore. My MagSafe was plugged in and the LED was amber as expected. Now when I accidentally removed the plug, my MBP shut down immediately and I had to plug it in again to turn it on. Now downloaded Coconut Battery to check what is going on and it showed that the Battery was working good. The drama started when I restarted my MBP to find out that my battery is not detected anymore. Since then I can work when the MagSafe is plugged in (of course Amber all the time) and my Battery Icon is not showing anymore. Diagnostic test gave me the error code PPT001 - Battery not detected, and Coconut doesn’t detect any Battery at all. Tried changing the battery but no success. Tried all SMC restarts and PRAM restarts but no help. Just to add, I had a liquid damage before but changed the Logic board a month ago. Is there a way to find out the reason? could it be the SMC without the diagnostic test detecting it so that I can return the logic board back? Thanks a lot Ahmed
I’m suspecting you have a damaged charging logic on the logic board from your liquid spill or a knockoff charger! Follow Louis vid here What does knockoff charger do to Macbook Pro Retina? Checking the resistors. To check the SMC when SMC is not powering up its 50% a bad connection in the ball array under it. As you see Louis fixed the issue just be applying flux and heating the chip up! Macbook Pro no green light on magsafe charger
