I replaced the battery on my pixel 2, but now the screen doesn’t turn on at all. I turned the phone back on before gluing the screen back down. I get all the correct vibrations from the power button, fingerprint scanner, and connecting a charger, just no pictures.
I had the same problem. Turns out that if there is any damage at all to the LCD behind the glass (the black rectangle on the back side of the display) then it’s completely shot. I had the tiniest of chips in one of the corners. A new display worked fine - but save your old screen to take the camera bracket & speaker grills cause new displays don’t have them. Next time I need a new battery I’ll get another new screen too, that way I won’t have to be as careful during disassembly.
