Hello there, I own a 15-inch retina display MacBook pro mid 2014, and I was wondering if it is okay to replace the battery with the Mid 2015 version instead of Late 2013-Mid 2014. Mid 2014: MacBook Pro 15" Retina (Late 2013-Mid 2014) Battery Mid 2015: MacBook Pro 15" Retina (Mid 2015) Battery Thanks!
This gets in the the Dollars and Sense of using the wrong battery for your system. Using the slightly larger battery 8230 mAh Vs the correct 8020 mAh (a difference of 10 mAh) does not offer enough benefit given the added cost $110 Vs 90 US (a difference of $20). Keep in mind thats like 1 or 2 minutes more of life. So I would just put in the correct battery in your Mid 2014 system Lets say you had a Mid 2015 system instead and were thinking of saving a few dollars using the cheaper 2013-2014 battery. This still wouldn’t work as the Late 2013 battery does not have the needed notch the 2015 battery has for the Touchpad.
