Instructions didn’t adequately identify the bar to lift on the tiny ZIF connector and I think I didn’t have it raised before removing the cable. I tried buying a new ribbon cable but I still have no keyboard or trackpad. The computer works with an external set, but I can’t reboot or wipe the disk. This was an expensive money-saving repair. Now I can’t even give the computer away!
I’m sorry you had a hard time. I’ve done dozens of these and never had any issues. The 2015 system uses different cables for the keyboard and the trackpad so I’m a bit confused how you lost access to both.
