Chosen Solution

Hi all, thanks in advance for the help. Since when did it occur: After I unscrewed my Macbook and put new thermal paste on the heat sink I am getting this problem. Problem: As the title says. My battery doesn’t charge altough the Macbook detects the battery. It is using the power adapter to work. If I unplug is the Macbook powers down. See bottom of the message for battery information (it is in Dutch) Is it possible during the re-assembly of the logic board I forgot to re-connect something? Don’t know what else could be causing the problem. Edit: the Macbook has been plugged it the past few hours, it was turned off, the battery stayed at 89%.

I’ve got a better idea on what’s happening here. Your battery is OK! But the charging logic in your system is not! Over time the knockoff chargers burn the comparator circuit which is how the system knows what the batteries level is so it doesn’t overcharge it. Here the charging logic is not able to read the upper level point. We can try resetting the SMC but I don’t think that will fix it How to reset the SMC of your Mac You’ll need to get your system to someone which has the needed tools and skills to repair your logic board.
