The MacBook had tea spilled on it and I have replaced the logic board and the battery status indicator. I also purchased a new battery from ifixit. It booted up imediatley upon attaching the magsafe charger and runs fine but does not recognize the battery (it says no battery available with the black x) and the magsafe light is solid green. When I unplug the magsafe the computer basically goes into hyprination sleep. It will not turn on when only the magsafe is not plugged in. I have reset the PRAM and SMC multiple times to know avail. Amy help will be appreciated. It is running OS Sierra.
It sounds like you need board repair. The ISL6259AHRTZ (I believe) is responsible for allowing voltage from the battery into the system power. The chip is probably full functioning, since your computer is working, but components near it may be broken. Alternatively, the data lines that your computer’s SMC (system management controller) uses to communicate with the battery may be shot. Either way, I would recommend taking it somewhere that does component-level board repair, and offer a free diagnostic to get it checked out.
