Hello, i bought an late 2008 macbook it runs well catalina and is still ok machine but the battery charges slowly and i get the “battery is not charging” message even though it does charge (but slowly how i mentioned before) also the magsafe light is always green. Does anyone have an idea what is wrong???
OK, while you haven’t pushed it past the cycle limit of 1k it’s quite old, just over 10 years! It’s time to replace it. But lets also check your MagSafe connector on your system and make sure the charger is in good shape!
Make sure yours doesn’t look like this! And the cable is not messed up as well.
I’m guessing that the discolouration around one of the pins, either on the mbp or the charger means it’s ‘fried’? My charger has the top end pin with slight discolouration and sometimes it doesn’t light up properly and the battery says it’s not charging. Brand new battery by the way.
