So I recently spilled just a bit of water on my Mac, and the battery has gone craze ever since. After spilling the water, I quickly shut down my Mac, disassembled it, and let it dry for a few hours (not much water, so I figured 6-7 hours by a radiator would be enough). Thankfully, my Mac worked just fine after this whole process, but the battery is now acting weirdly. It’s very unstable (charges and discharges in a matter of minutes), and shuts down at like 40-50%. My question is whether it’s just a battery connector that needs cleaning, or maybe the whole battery needs to be replaced. Thanks in advance Edit: Forgot to mention that my Mac also tells me to service the battery; that’s why the battery bar is red Edit 2: I obviously did NOT leave the battery by the radiator. I took the battery out and placed in a safe, away from heat and sun, place
Liquid damage can be difficult to repair. Bring it to a local, independent repair shop, not an apple store or apple authorized service provider (AASP). More specifically find someone who does microsoldering. If you can’t find anyone, I high recommend Rossman Repair Group in NYC. Louis Rossman has a whole youtube channel you can check out and he accepts devices from all over the world.
