Chosen Solution

Hello Experts, My device shows 85% charged. When I click on battery it shows Replace Now. If I switch off the power/remove adapter, the MacBook immediately turns off. I was getting the heating problem after which I got the fan cleaned. The heating problem is solved but I started getting this battery issue. Some of the keys also stopped working. I got the keyboard wires cleaned and then got the keyboard working completely. However, the battery issue is still there. The battery was working perfectly fine before I opened it up for fan servicing. I looked at the battery physically and do not see any bulge. The battery was replaced 1 year ago only. so, I do not think it might be an issue (a belief). One thing I have observed is that when I switch on the power, the laptop starts without even pressing the power button. I am able to shut the computer off by pressing the power button (so, maybe it is working as well) Can you guide me on how to troubleshoot and what can be the issue? Thank you in advance.

Below is the device. MacBook Pro 13" Retina Display Mid 2014 Model A1502 / 2.6 GHz (Turbo Boost up to 3.1 GHz) or 2.8 GHz (Turbo Boost up to 3.3 GHz) dual-core Intel Core i7 processor with 4MB shared L3 cache.

Well, I can tell you the battery still has life in it. The status of being Poor maybe reflecting a power drain some where within the logic board. Did you have a liquid spill at some point? You talk about needing the keyboard serviced, I suspect they just tried cleaned it and didn’t get to some of the spill. At this point I think you really need a new keyboard to fix this and in the process do a deeper cleaning of the logic board.
