If the battery indicator flex cable is completely broken off will the rest of the computer shut down? I had taken my Macbook into an Apple store and their diagnosis was that the logic board was shot. I ordered a new one and replaced it, but the same issue is happening. The laptop will not turn on nor will the green light on the charger come on when connected. Thanks for the advice and help. -Max

The battery checker on the side of the body hooks up to the logic board here:

If you disconnect the checker cable your system should still boot up. If it doesn’t then you need to look deeper into your problem. I suspect your real issue is the battery has died, or your MagSafe charger connection is not working properly DC-In Board
