Placed removed battery back in the phone, works as well as it ever did. Original Apple PN removed from phone is 616-0809. New, non-working replacement is 616-0805. According to the web, they are interchangeable. Do I have a defective new battery? Any way to check the voltage of new batt with a multimeter?
Many aftermarket batteries don’t work well with phones…especially iPhones and Samsung devices. To test voltage on the battery you could put the multimeter in dc voltage mode. Place the red probe (positive) on the positive end of the battery and the black probe or ground/commong (negative) on the negative terminal of the battery. You’ll see which side of pins are positive and negative on the battery itself.
