Hi All Wondering if anyone is aware of software issues on apple side / hardware issues on Ifixit side regarding iphone 7 battery (ios 14.7.1). Replaced the battery as health was low with one purchased through website. Within a couple of months I found the screen to have been pushed out of the frame from the battery expanding - battery health still 100% , but phone dying within 20 minutes of taking off full charge. Purchased a second (never reported the first) as Apple is such a sh** company i put it down to their firmware. However i’ve now encountered the same issue with this battery. Has anyone encountered anything similar? Or any suggestions? (worth reporting this issue to the ifixit team or not?). To clarify - i’m not seeking any returns/money etc. Simply want to know what the !&&* has happened to my phone. Thanks
I’ve had the same issue with other items. The battery is over charging, getting hot and “ swelling “! The problem is that you need to completely reset your device with the new battery being in the device because the device it’s self shuts off the charge and having changed the battery it’s not synced with the the new one so the device dosent know when the new battery is fully charged and it’s over heating.
