Chosen Solution
Hello all. Just purchased this battery from ifixit, and swapped the battery on this Mac a few days ago. After install I noticed first that the computer wouldn’t turn on without the power adapter. Once it was connected the computer powered on and immediately read 100% charge. After a few hours of use the battery dropped from 70-80% all the way to 7. I plugged in the charger and the laptop charged normally to about 30% and shot up to 100% immediately. I have reset the SMC multiple times on this laptop. I have included some screenshots of coconut battery and activity monitor below. Can’t believe this replacement battery has less capacity than the outgoing battery from 2014.
