A couple of weeks ago my phone ran out of battery and wouldn’t take a charge. I noticed the charge cable wasn’t sitting in the port too well so narrowed it down to a worn out charge port, ordered a new one, fitted fine, still no power. I then figured it must be the battery so ordered a new one. Fitted fine, powered on once phone was connected to a charger (battery came with approx 75% charge) however, the battery won’t charge further than this. I changed the charge port back over to the original and the same happens. Turns on once connected but will not charger, it must be connected properly as it is powers on when plugged in. I’ve gone through and checked everything is attached properly. Any ideas? Thank you for your time and any help you may be able to offer.
If you have had both of those parts replaced and have tried a known working Apple original charger and charge cable, then this is very likely your problem: http://www.macrumors.com/2014/06/19/ipho…
The iphone wont charge because of an issue with the U2 IC chip on the motherboard. To repair this, you need a professional to either reball the chip or replace it (Replacing is always better). This is why your iphone will not sync or charge even when the battery and charging ports are replaced. This is a very common issue. If you have never soldered micro chips before, I suggest you find someone that can.
i have some problem once on iphone 4,i change and replaced charge port and battery double time.but i wont charged. when i recheck, charge port and battey cord is correct voltage on digital meter, Then i change the “usb cable” and “charger adaptor” it was fixed.
Maybe a long shot, but have you checked for any bent pins where the charging port plugs into? Or any corrosion/lint/dirt on the usb cable which plugs into the charge port?
U2 IC is probably damaged. Don’t try to replace it if you don’t have the skills and equipment.
