I replaced the original battery with one from iFixit a few months ago (around 10) and it was working perfectly until two days ago, the battery all of a sudden is not detected and the charger seems to be charging (led is orange) but without the charger laptop won’t start. From the battery section in the system preferences it shows that current battery charge is 0% and battery status in menubar is not shown.

I tried to reset the SMC multiple times but it did not help, I also tried to reconnect the battery connection but it still did not help. I also noticed that when this happened, the MacBook Pro is running in some sort of throttled performance and it slowed down quite a bit. I ran CoconutBattery and battery information is not retrieved at all.

Unfortunately I can’t test if the problem is the charger i.e. test with another one, unless there is another way how can I test my own charger? If the issue is the logical board, is there a way how to remove the throttling? Thanks in advance for the help.

From the sounds of it you got a bad battery😫 You’ll need to contact the iFixit to get a replacement. The problem is the batteries micro-controller failed. This has been a large problem across many as the chip supply has been a problem.
