Hi Got an MacBookPro 6.1 A1297 Unibody Mid 2010 old but great 17” display and it it was just pimped up with SSD . I was lucky to get new looking “spare” battery from a friend Replacement A1309 Li-polymer 7.4V 11.2AhSN: 9G925P26G4M0A (seems not a SerialNumber as other has posted same Number..)Manufacture: PS -Gerätename: CL5369Pack Lot Code : 4215 - PCB Lot Code: 111 (according CoconutBattery thats manufactured Sept 2015.. ) But I face similar problem as reported in many forums: „SystemInformation“ shows only 36 cycles and 8259mV and „vollständig geladen“ JA / 100%. The „verbleibende Ladung“ 10940mA looks great but it drops after a few minutes to 7% and system shuts down. Whats strange that “Stromverbrauch” is indicate zero, but unfortunate the data in „SystemInformation“ are not updated automatically so information might be not accurate as system only charges / run a few minutes/seconds. After connection MagSafe the system can be restarted, MagSafe connector turns Amber and „System Information“ indicate„ Batterie wird geladen“ JA-YES, but again after a few minutes it indicates already „full“ and MagSafe turns Green I did the what AppleSupport recommends: Removed new Battery againPress „Power On“ buttonConnect Battery againShift+Ctrl+Alt + power on button for 5 sec Problem remains : ( I doubt that there is problem with PS or Mainboard as old Battery (already disposed) was at least charging and de-charging normal. The Battery does not looks damaged and Voltage between Pin 1-5 against 9-13 shows 8.25V and between 7-8 against 9-13 shows 7.5V. If it would be NiCa I would say its „Memory-Effect“. But LiPo should not have that weakness ?! Might the un-attendance in storage cause other damage? Manufacture Date Sept 2015 - only 36 cycles.. I have Early 2011 MBP 8.3 with A1383 Battery manufactured Feb 2011 with 1033 cycles and that one still runs many hours. So what went wrong with that “Replacement” Battery? Is it typical for LiPo to keep Voltage (no load) but not store any energy anymore? Sure if it charges only 5 min I can’t expect that Battery is getting ever full. I guess there is some electronic - either in system or the Battery Pack which stop charging due to 8.25 V (max Voltage LiPo cell is recommended 4.2 according wiki) I am wondering if nobody else has any hint or explanation ? Can I open the Battery Pack and fix something? Full Battery 100% but its drained after 1min
with attached MagSafe its charging “amber”
but after 5min it changes to “green”
How can I get the “Voltage” down which probably stops the charging? Regards
Lets see if we can get some deeper diagnostics here. Install this gem of a app CoconutBattery it will allow you to see your batteries status as well as its wear. It will also let you see more clearly what the MagSafe charger is doing and what the systems logic is doing to damage the battery. Lets get a snapshot of the original battery with the MagSafe connected and then do your friends battery and paste them here for us to see. Adding images to an existing question
