Bad storm last night left my Imac dead. No LEDs, No fans. Started to disassemble but i do not want to just start replacing parts.
The problem you face here is how far did the lightning travel within your system. It could have stopped at the power supply if the power line was hit, or it could have jumped to you logic board via your network connection, or other connected device that was hit. It’s just a gamble here, sorry. ;-{ I would just try to get my insurance company to pay for a replacement, in the long haul it will be cheaper. You may want to pull the drive to see if you can salvage the data on it, I would stop there.
