Got a Mac Book Air with with water damage and no backlight I’m helping someone diagnose remotely. Board number is 820-3437 It has 8.5 volts in and out of the Inductor/Coil L7701, just not getting boosted. Continuity through the coil, but reading 0.0 ohms, – verdict it is shorted. Problem now is finding a replacement part. It’s rated 15µH - 2.8A, but i’m having trouble finding one that rating that would fit, by his estimate its 5mmx5mmx3mm. Don’t have a donor board to pull one off of, just looking for suggestions on where to find one? Checked the usuals like digikey mouser and newark. Any help appreciated, thanks.
Nolan Stubbs a XAL4040-153ME from Coilcraft might just work for you. Check the land pattern and see if it will fit
