Right, so my backlight has really been playing up - refusing to work at all for a couple of days and then being fine. I fiddle with the brightness and it works for a while. But at some point, I know it’ll just go dark again. Sometimes have to use a lamp shone on the screen to do little things. I’ve replaced the inverter and the inverter cable but no change. Anything else I can try?
Eloise Akehurst old question and only answered for completion sake. Regardless of the exact model, something like this where teh inverter and the cables have already been repalced with new ones, the culprit now could be the screen itself. It will become important to check the connectors and to check the backlight itself. CCFL’s can behave the way the OP described. A backlight test (either LED or CCFL) will become an invaluable tool for this.
