so 1st things 1st. a few keys on my keyboard stopped working so i wanted to take out the keyboard for cleaning. after following the instructions in this HP 15-bs015dx Teardown teardown article, I mostly took apart my laptop. i started to remove the motherboard, before deciding that i should check to see if reseating the keyboard ribbon fixed the problem (it did). on the other hand my backlight didnt turn on. i did remove all the ribbons from the mother board and a few screws but put everything back the way it was. any advice?
Hi Elazar, the disassembling and assembling laptops are easy operations, but you must proceed with caution. You have to be very carefully, because you can damage your laptop easily and you don’t have to know about it. First This issue can be caused by damaged flex cable or the connector (both sides) - You can measure continuity on the cable by continuity test on your multimeter. If it’s ok, please measure continuity from the cable to the connector and opposite. Second Disassembly your laptop again and check if all cables are connected and working properly - they must be placed as original.
