Chosen Solution

I received an iPad with a back light issue. usually i would pin it down to the fuse/filter. but every time the fuse is replaced i see a puff of smoke come from it as soon as the battery is connected. I have additionally replaced the IC/diode and the coil (I know its not the coil… but still). has anyone else encountered this if so is there a solution.

Check the camera IC’s. I had a heck of a problem with iPad Mini 1st gens popping filters and it ended up being a bad camera IC. I was popping them when I disconnected the screen and didn’t figure it out until it was too late.
