I’m attempting to remove the back cover of my laptop to replace the battery and cracked screen but it is glued down with the strongest adhesive tape I’ve ever encountered. I have the Essentials Toolkit but the Jimmy and Suction aren’t working. Any advice on using heat? I’ve never done that. Thanks!
Where did you get your system as you’ll need to find out its history and try to find out what they did. But, if it was glued … You’ll need to carefully cut the bottom cover off and get a replacement bottom cover. That’s odd I just can’t understand anyone glueing it down! How about getting a plate glass suction cup which has a stronger grip! And use some solvent carefully dragging a wet cotton swab (Q-Tip) along the seam and the screw holes. It’s not quantity it’s the time it stays wet that counts!
