Chosen Solution
Hey, my iPhone doesn’t seem to have any Auto Brightness ability anymore … Even the Setup App does not show any signs of the Auto Brightness Button. Can anybody suggest a solution?
I can’t say I have ever seen this first hand, so let me tell you how I would go about diagnosing it:
- Hard reset. (you did this, it didn’t help)
- Put the phone into recovery mode and connect it to your computer. In iTunes, set it up as a new device. You can back it up before this step if you don’t want to lose any data. This should tell you if its a hardware or software issue and software is easier to fix than hardware. If it works after this, great.
- Take the display off your phone and see if the prox sensor got knocked off the screen. It should look like this: https://d3nevzfk7ii3be.cloudfront.net/ig… If it got knocked loose, stick it back on and you are good to go.
- If all that failed, its probably a bad sensor. It happens. Its probably a $.03 part when Apple buys it. Buy a new front camera/sensor flex and put it on. Its a super easy repair. So…eliminate software, then troubleshoot hardware easiest to hardest.
Hi what is you iPhone generation ? You might just have to change the front flex (with front camera, etc…) (if we are talking about and >5 iPhone). Try it, and tell us what happens.
We are having to much phone that they it wdfg
