Need help trying to resolve why my 2012 Nissan Cube Steering wheel controls do not work. Little bit of background when I first got the car it worked fine until I notice slowly it started not working when pressing the audio control buttons. Finally one day it completely stopped though this was shortly after my horn went out and I replaced with a aftermarket one. It worked for maybe 5 months after the horn was installed. Though suddenly it completely stopped working no matter what I did to get it to work again. I already got a new OEM spiral/clock spring cable installed recently, replaced the radio with a pioneer radio and installed the steering wheel controls though did no work . Lastly I replaced it with a brand-new steering wheel although nothing seems to be working. I know it worked when I first got my car although now its seems nothing I do can actually fix the issue. I really appreciate any assistant and thank you!
Hi @draya , Don’t know the answer but here’s the Audio, Visual & Navigation System – 2012 Cube section from the service and repair manual. On p.77/128 it shows that the steering wheel can be configured in the Service system configuration menu. On p.80/128 it shows the navi unit’s wiring pinout and what voltage signals to expect when operating the steering wheel control buttons. On p.88/128 there is the schematic of the steering wheel connections to the control unit which may also help if you have to trace the wiring. I’m not sure if this is applicable with a new radio unit installation but hopefully it will be of some help.
