Chosen Solution
A co-worker of mine asked me what could be wrong with his TV, and I had told him that I’d take a look. Seems obvious to me that SOME sort of hardware has gone bad but, being that I’m kind of a n00b at this whole thing, I’m a little lost as to what it could be. He told me that he was given the TV with the issue of the audio only working after a few minutes of warmup, but now he’s also experiencing video cutout after a little while as well. Perhaps I could find the beginnings of a trail here to maybe find the bad part? Update (08/31/2017) Addendum: It seems that if the audio works, the video doesn’t, but conversely if the video works, the audio doesn’t either.
@candorous that sounds like a main board issue. Very hard to tell what you are getting into without knowing what make or model this is. Try to find some kind of label that might help you to identify what you got there.
