Newbie here, so go easy + a female at that … My 2015 Macbook Pro hasn’t has the mileage many have. Bought it maxed out, planning for future. 2.5 Core i7, 16GB DDR3 RAM + AMD Radeon R9 M370X 2 GB Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB. Plenty of storage on it as I use Dropbox for everything, Began using a 40” Samsung Smart TV as my external monitor (beautiful color). Not 4k. Smaller 24” external monitor worked great. Since upgrading monitor, an occasional flickering happen where red flickers to pink + back+forth. Fan not kicking on or anything.
Is graphics card overwhelmed by 40" monitor? Just happens occasionally. Simply curious what this means. I use CleanMyMacX. Any ideas? Appreciate, all! Scarlett
Most likely you are expecting more out of your 40” TV If we look at what your GPU can support for resolutions: 1920 by 12001680 by 10501280 by 8001024 by 640 You’ll need to see if your TV offers a compatible option. You’ll also want to make sure your system doesn’t jump between the IG to the DG and then back to the IG as your display could react to the change. To do this you’ll need open your Energy Saver preferences, then un-check ‘Automatic graphics switching’ You’ll want to do this when on the Power Adapter, I would leave the Battery settings alone.
