Chosen Solution
Title says most. Additionally power switch not working. Computer works from charger only and the plugging in the charger starts the system. The bios remembers changes with both batteries missing. Any theories?
The power button board of this laptop also includes USB and an SD card reader. I would check to see if the SD Card Reader and the USB port next to it works, If not, then you will need to open it up and see if the ribbon cable is seated correctly on both ends. This may be the problem. If the battery is bad, In my experience.. Unless they are always mobile with their laptop, they are completely happy with using only the power supply. Most people will not put out money for a new battery.
