mine is a Dell Inspirion and its saying the exact same thing. I was told it was a hacker who was remote controlling my laptop…I need it fixed to get them out. I have tried everything. Is there s way to factoryvreset around this???
It’s possible that a hacker encrypted your hard drive and put a password on it. Have you received any messages demanding money to get the password? If you have a good backup of the computer, this would be a good time to restore the backup to the hard drive. If you don’t have a good backup, and if you aren’t worried about losing what is on the computer, you could do a factory reset, which will wipe the drive and bring it back to new condition software-wise. Go to the following web page to get the Dell Factory Recovery media: https://www.dell.com/support/contents/us… Or you could do a clean install of Windows. If there is a Windows install key label on the computer, you could download that same version of Windows from heidoc.net, do a clean Windows install, then use that key to activate Windows.
