https://vimeo.com/452788092 (see the video) I am getting screen artifacts after boot chime, not sure if the LVDS cable is loose from behind the display (on board is fine) OR GPU issue (Redeongate). Update (08/29/2020) I see similar artifacts on an external monitor, I immediately closed lid after pressing power button (see image below).
https://imgur.com/a/a5rH1AL Can this be a RAM issue ? as I had to reseat RAM couple of times, as I was getting continuous chimes on boot. Update (09/02/2020) I finally resolved it. I booted into system rescue CD and then SSH’ed into the MacBook. Then I followed the guide here I followed the last steps (for archlinux (system rescue CD ver 6 & greater is based on archlinux) Then followed the steps to disable csrutil > Nvram change > remove kext. well instructed in this post I noticed that the left Shift key, 7, 8 & 9 keys aren’t working, Any ideas why that would be ?
Sorry to say you have a messed up LCD display! Just to the top right we can see cracks in the cover glass and you likely damaged the LCD panel as well when you banged the system. At this point you’ll need to either replace the LCD panel alone or the full display assembly. Here’s the guide to get it off: MacBook Pro 15" Unibody Early 2011 Display Replacement If the lid its self it damaged then I would just go with the full assembly here: MacBook Pro 15" Unibody (Early 2011-Late 2011) Display Assembly
