Hello, I have 2020 M1 Air and today I was removing a keycap, because it made weird sound. After I have removed it, I noticed, that the plastic clip on the keycap is broken into 3 pieces. The clicking mechanism by it self is fine, just the keycap broke. My question is - Can I buy keycaps for different model, are they interchangeable? (My D keycap broke) In the photo I attached, you can see that the top right corner is broken.
Hi You can definitely replace them! From my experience doing this I find it’s easier to buy a new cap with a new switch as they are easily damaged during installation and it doesn’t cost much more ether:-) As for where you can find these parts eBay and AliExpress are loaded with them so you should have a hard time finding one;-) Hopefully this helps Thanks:-)
