Chosen Solution
Like many others, I hate the butterfly keyboard. I have a 16 inch which types way better than my Air, but it’s not as portable. I don’t want to buy another macbook and I want to know if the top cases are interchangeable between the 2018 and the 2020 MacBook Airs.
Sorry I don’t see it working. First the 2019 & 2020 models have TrueTone support so the displays connection is different to the logic board. To add to this the 2018 & 2019 have less head space as the butterfly keyboard didn’t need the space the 2020 model does with the scissor keyboard. This is the space between the top of the keys to the displays surface. So you run the risk of damaging your display. Dammed and double damed ;-{ I would just sell your system and get a newer model if you what the better keyboard, sorry.
