I’ve already asked support but have not received a response.
I ordered a kit for the Apple Watch 3 but got a force touch sensor that says Apple Watch 2 on the packaging. It seems that the two parts are compatible but am finding conflicting responses on the forum. I do not want to do the service and create a bigger problem that could easily be fixed with patience.
why wouldn’t they put Apple Watch 2/3 force touch sensor on the packaging?
I checked the part numbers of the force touch sensor for the Apple series 2 38mm and 42mm and the series 3 38mm and the 42mm and they all had different part numbers. I wouldn’t chance it if you can wait.
Keep in mind, when you replace the force touch sensor on a series 2 or 3 watch, it will have issues pairing with a new device as the force touch sensor is paired to each specific watch like the home buttons with touchID.
