Hi guys, I recently bought an Apple LED Cinema display and had some issues with it. Sometimes, the screen won’t turn on, it will stay black for hours but, the speakers and the USB work fine. I’ve been trying some tests on it and found that when I sleep with my window open at night, the screen will not turn on for hours when I try to turn on him the morning. But every time I sleep with the window closed, the screen will automatically turn on, and won’t have a black screen. So my question, is there something linked to the temperature of the room, or the display itself that keep him on black screen? If yes, is there a piece that I could change to fix this problem?

It appears the logic board will need repairs or just replacing it (logic board P/N 661-5544). Given the age of the display, it’s likely a weak cap or cold solder joint is the issue. See if you can find a set of the LED Cinema Display (27-inch) Schematics & Boardview to help you isolate the area of theologic board that needs service. Using the Mac you can now check the displays firmware is upto date: LED Cinema Display Software Update 1.1 This addresses a speaker issue it had.
