Hi After I spill water on key keyboard. some keys were not working. Pressed k key and jkl apperead. so I put the keyboard in the dish washer (as some youtube tutorials call it as good idea. After that nothing was working but the PC recognized the keyboard as Apple Keyboard. I opned it with the tutorial here and soldered the usb cable. Now just one think is still not working If I press A, the computer recognize A and S same for: F1 & F2 Q & W A & S Y & X any idea ? Rest is fine
Sorry to say I don’t think this is repairable. You see the switch elements within give keys are now damaged. The way a keyboard works is a matrix columns and rows (X -Y). A rubber dome switch is used which has a small conductive pad which shorts the X and Y lines. In your case liquid damage from both the spill and then putting the keyboard into the dishwasher. Time for a new keyboard - Sorry
Yes you can but must be very patient and give it a few DAYS to completely dry. The only problem I have “heard” of, and I wonder if this is true, is that mineral deposits from the evaporating water could cause short circuits. Distilled water for washing is a possibility and would leave no deposits.
