I have an iphone 6s and i have the same problem like the dude with the iphone 5. When I plug it in on mute, it never vibrates, although there is current coming to the screen wires. Is there any other way I can make sure my phone works without a screen?
Normally I plug it into a computer and see if its recognised by the computer. Normally if it is recognised by the computer then it probably works
