As stated above, it’s getting this error every time you try activating it, either via local or iTunes activation. Various software resets etc have all been tried. CDMA based unit. Some techs suggested the SIM slot could be damaged. I’m looking for advice what the actual issue is called in the repair world, and if anybody knows a good tech to help with it locally in South Bay Area / San Jose, CA, or via mail order since it’s somewhat more involved than a typical phone repair would be.

Use 3UTools and check if the IMEI is being displayed on there. If it is not then the issue is related to the baseband circuit area which can only be fixed by microsoldering. iPad Rehab should be able to help you out, not sure where they are located in.

SOLVED! I had the same problem just let your phone completely die until it gets to 0% and then charge your phone and then wait for it to turn on and it should be at your normal lock screen again and it should be working fine.
