I have a Garmin 50LM. When typing the name of a state, example, I’ll type “M”, all states with an M appear except Michigan. Same thing with the letter C, California doesn’t appear. This has happened to 2 Garmin GPS.
It sounds like not all the maps downloaded. I would say put in a micro SD card into the GPS (8gb is more than enough). Connect that GPS device into a computer that has “Garmin Express” installed. There should be an option to load/reload all maps. Try doing so and see if you still have the same problem.
