I’m wondering if anyone knows what screw threading and length I need to replace… ALL of the internal screws in this particular laptop (a1398). I do mean everything…-Logic board hold-down screws -Fan screws -Hinge screws (I believe they’re stainless) -SSD hold-down screw. -Processor clip screws (important, I only have 3 of them!) If the threading is the same for everything? I can get a kit of various lengths if they’re some standard M threading. Someone attempted to repair the %#*@ laptop and absolutely butchered it… now it’s my attempt. Cheers!
To get a full listing you’ll need to scare up the Apple Technicians Guide for this system to get all of the details for each screw. Maybe it would be wise just to find a junker to steal the screws, iFixit had offered a screw set MacBook Pro 15" Retina (Mid 2012-Early 2013) Screw Set but I’m sure its out of stock at this point given the age of this system. Another source I use is TheBookYard in the UK 13" MacBook Pro Early 2013 screws and lastly you might still find on the online marketplaces screw sets. The iFixit guides offer details of each screw you need to remove to pull a part. As an example:
