Its my first time opening my macbook and I am not familiar with screwdrivers. P5 2.3mm P5 3.0mm T6 2.8mm T6 7.0mm T6 6.4mm T5 2.7mm These all look same or somewhat different to me guys XD so…confused…. I don’t want to buy wrong tools so please help me out. Would love to see replies with links that I can click and purchase. Thank you
Hi @firstimemacuser The millimeter designations in the guide are for screw depth, meaning that you shouldn’t put a long screw in where a short screw came out. Just make sure you keep the screws organized! From the guide, it looks like you’ll only need a P5, T5, and T6 screwdriver to complete the replacement. P stands for Pentalobe and T stands for Torx. You can get this kit to complete the repair: Essential Electronics Toolkit The T6 and TR6 bits are interchangeable! Best of luck with your repair!
