I have a BenQ GW2450 monitor used wholly for my consoles. Recently I connected my Nintendo 64 to it, and for it to recognise the old AV I use a AV2HDMI converter. It worked fine. After using it I tried to set up my PS4 again using the same HDMI cable as before however now the monitor won’t regonise that the HDMI cable is plugged in. I tried a different HDMI cable. I tried cleaning the ports. I set up the N64 again and it worked without issue so there’s no issue with the ports/connectors. I can’t get the menu up when the PS4 is connected to try and change the settings either (because it’s not recognising the HDMI input from the PS4). Also the PS4 is booting just fine (it’ll have issues to sort out considering I can’t shut it down properly at the moment, considering). Has anybody got any suggestions?
Take a close look at the HDMI connector on the PS4. I suspect that a pin or 2 has been damaged. If not, then the internal connections for the HDMI connector may be defective. If not, then the HDMI controller IC needs to be replaced. If either the connector or IC need to be replaced, someone that does micro-soldering will be required to resolve this. The problem appears to be with the HDMI on the PS4 and not the converter or the monitor. Dan
