What are people’s experience with aftermarket batteries in older mac laptops? I had a machine miraculously come back to life after 2 years of being bricked and stored in a cupboard. Everything seems to work properly but the battery doesn’t hold a charge particularly well. I’d like to understand the potential problems that apple soft/firmware might have with after market/compatible batteries.
I have an aftermarket battery in my original C2D MacBook Air and it works great. The battery lasts up to 4-6 hours depending on use and there are no issues with the OS. That being said the max OS you can get on that particular MBA is OS X 10.7.5 and I cannot really relate to using an aftermarket battery on a (somewhat) newer MBA that can keep up to Mojave.
