I just installed the IF118-028-4 powered up and I am experiencing white vertical lines along with half of display will not react with touching screen. What do you think is the problem. Replaced because of cracked screen, everything worked before replacement.
Disconnect, reseat, test. When disconnected, look at the flat ends of the screen cables. If they look banana shaped, make them straight again - gently. It’s ok to over do it slightly and bend them a tat inwards as once you seat them, they’ll be back to their straight form. If that doesn’t help, it is very likely that you pulled and damaged the screen cables during initial installation. This happens very often as those things are very fragile. Contact iFixit support and ask them about it.
!&&* no what are you saying? First, your instructions to reasemble were to just reverse order of remove . Let me just say there was nothing in regards to how much pressure assert on connections, not to mention how to aline the connectors so not to install or the way I see it as to not cross thread the connection. Hey taking apart, no challenge considering you have just purchased your replacement part and have the confidence that it will work. “damaged the screen cables.” I think not I will expect more of a response than that
