Hello, I purchased the iFixit 15" battery replacement kit to replace the awful OEM battery inside my MacBook Pro. After replacement, the machine does not boot or chime. I tried an SMC reset but it did not respond. It does not respond to a long press of the power button either. The fans spin up after I plug in the charger, but if just the battery is connected, nothing happens when I press the power button. I plugged in the original battery and that allowed it to boot. What is wrong with my new battery? Thanks!
You’ll likely need to charge it for a while. What color is your MagSafe charger LED Green or Amber?
Have you checked to see that all the pins are lining up when you plug in the new battery?
