I switch the tv on and it just keeps jumping to channels and won’t stay on any channel. Just keeps flicking from channel to channel . I have turned it off checked the power and aerial but no luck. Does this mean that I need a new tv? Thanks Jenny
@jeneye this could be caused by a failed IR board. Of course, you also want to remove the battery from the remote to ensure it is not the problem. For further diagnostics, let us know what model your TV is.
Samsung TV’s have issues when they are always plugged in. For some unknown reason their circuitry that is used for the TV to be “fast power on” is faulty and the tv works better if you unplug it in between usage. I at first thought it was a firmware issue and updated mine with the latest firmware which seemed to fix the issue for awhile but later this issue started happening again. So now I just keep my Samsung TV unplugged when not in use and I haven’t had this type of issue anymore. Although it is kinda of a hassle plugging in the TV, I do not have my TV going blitzoid anymore either.
