I replaced the complete display panel assembly and battery in my daughters iPhone 5S. Everything went pretty smooth with repair. During reassembly, I did have some trouble getting the inner most connection for the display assembly to properly seat, but I felt I had all three proper seated before I reinstalled the cover plate. After reassembly, I restarted the with a “hard reboot” and everything appeared to be fined. We found out that with actual use the screen is erratic and will “touch or click” things on its own. She also found the front camera not to be working as well. Any thoughts?
This sounds like the screen installed may be defective. Unfortunately, it can be common for screen to act up. (i.e. Basically have a mind of it own) I would try these steps before going to get more parts. Try to remove all the screen connections again to make sure there is a proper connection. You will hear a nice click knowing there are install properly. At the same time, you can check over the front camera assembly flex cable a good look over. It is berry easiest damaged when removed and possibly we will replacing. After checking all the connections, reinstall the sceeen, then device on, once on, turn off again and back in one more time. Now test camera and touch. If both continue to fail, you will need to replace the LCD assembly again and the front facing camera assembly. The replacement was the complete display assembly, I only needed to swap out the home button. The display assembly went back in smoothly, no dents/damage to the housing. I will recheck the connections and contact customer support if the display is still defective. Thanks for the help.
